About Us

In May 1983 Anthony D'Amelio, Pat Cianfagna, and Giulo Petta opened a luncheonette in the East End of Waterbury and called it "Three of a Kind." They served hearty breakfasts and lunches and built up a strong following of satisfied customers. Business was so good they decided to expand, and in 1997 they knocked down the luncheonette and built Paisano's, which gave them more space and the opportunity to offer a full dinner menu to their customers.

A peek at the menu shows an extraordinary variety of offerings. Appetizers range from Eggplant Rollatini, Shrimp Florentine to Broccoli Rabe and Sausage. Entrees range from Fettucine Ala Enza (shrimp, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, in a garlic alfredo sauce, served over fettucini) to Sirloin Steaks, Pork Chops, a wide variety of shrimp dishes, Walnut Encrusted Chicken, and of course, a delicious selection of traditional Italian dishes.

Many of the dishes are old family recipes. There wasn't a lot of money in Europe so the relatives were creative, and passed the magic down through the children.

"We have a huge menu," Tony D'Amelio said. "People don't realize that we have great salads and sandwiches, and a great entree selection at dinner."

Best of all -- Tony said the pricing structure is affordable and family friendly.

"We give big proportions," Tony said. "We want our customers to leave here satisfied. It goes back to our Italian roots -- we love to feed them."

The walls inside Paisano's are covered with black and white family photographs.

"We are paying respect," Tony said. "My grandparents came here in their 40s, and I'm now in my 40s. They had such fortitude and courage. I appreciate the sacrifice they made."

In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the talented chefs at Paisano's provide off premise catering and party trays for any occasion. Paisano's also has seating for special events, offering seating for 50 people for after funeral or graduation parties.

Paisano's is a celebration of good food, family, and life. You are welcome to come join the party!
